IBM Health Corps, American Cancer Society, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network

2017
Sub-Saharan Africa

Sub-Saharan Africa’s cancer burden is significant and projected to increase by 85% in the next 15 years, but many lack access to life-saving treatments. IBM Health Corps will work with the American Cancer Society and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) to together create a new powerful tool to help oncologists in Africa gain access to the knowledge of their peers and best practices. The tool will assist oncologists in a clinical setting to treat patients by providing an efficient way to access treatment protocols and options. The IBM cancer care assistant will improve the quality and capacity for lifesaving cancer treatment in sub-Saharan Africa.
